Mark Gardiner

Mark Gardiner served his apprenticeship in 70's hard and progressive rock outfits Mother's Pumpkin and Abbey, followed by some esoteric takes on Brit folk and psychedelia in the strangely strange "Black Annis". In the 80s he played keys and red guitar in the Sydney-based post-punk outfit "The Scream". He is a master educator and has been at the leading edge of music technology for some years.

He now plays many different coloured guitars in the Melbourne-based psychedelic country rock outfit "Dust" and composes for film.

Mark constantly pushes the boundaries of sonic possibility, sonic architecture and sonic connection to the world, creating sometimes minimalist, sometimes complex, trance inducing abstract beats, sad reflections and funky dance tunes.

album review
These tracks are there to evoke the imagery and feeling of city landscapes. ADELAIDE has an 80’s retro synth-pop kind of feel and contains several changes of scene. BERLIN has an industrial, minimalist and modern feel, influenced in some part by European Glitch. It has an unrelenting and slowly evolving structure. This is pure hard driving Electronic Techno at its best.
